Hungry??

Danny and I sometimes get so busy in the day that we forget to eat. Then we come home starving and stuff our faces til we're sick. Today was one of those days.

My two burritos.

Danny used a whole tube of meat for his double burger with bacon.

We both feel extremely sick now.

Half of a Half Marathon Baby!

One of my really good friends from work, Sarah, ran the half marathon in Salt Lake City today. She has trained and worked her butt off for quite some time and me and a couple of other friends decided to go support her.

We dropped her off at the crack of dawn and watched her start the race and left to meet her at an aid station Long story short we couldn't get to the place we needed to be for her. She called us in a panic wondering where we were and we were freaking out because we had no idea how we would get the stuff to her. So I volunteered to run down the course to find her and give her the shots (I was the only one wearing running shoes out of the three of us). I ran three miles down the course, found Sarah, gave her the energy shots, and then realized that the only way to get back to the car was to run the rest of the race with her. So thats exactly what I did.

I held her drink and passed her a shot everytime she needed it. I also tried to tell her words of encouragement but to be honest with you I was the one needing the encouraging words. I ran about seven miles today in all of the chaos. When we crossed the finish line I wanted to throw up and even though I didn't participate in the race I still took the cookies and water they handed out to the runners :) It was so much fun! Sarah finished in just over 2 hours and did an excellent job and I realized how out of shape I have gotten.

Move over Martha

Ever since I was a little girl I have always looked up to Martha Stewart. Instead of watching cartoons, I would watch Martha Stewart. She was always my idol until she went to jail. I really want to be a good homemaker like the one she portrayed on TV, so I have started taking baby steps in that direction.

I planted my own garden. Yes, it is small, but one day I will have a 20 ft by 20 ft garden! Danny thinks it looks like I'm going to the bathroom in this picture but I'm really just posing by my garden. I will never make a good model :)

I also made my own laundry soap. I have yet to try it but I think it will turn out great.

And lastly I made my own all purpose cleaner!

Over the weekend Danny and I were able to go to his cousin Shae Pyper's college graduation. It was really cool to see what she has accomplished. Graduating from college is not an easy thing and I hope that I can do it too. We had a ton of fun hanging out with Shae and Preston (her husband). We played games, talked, made fun of each other, and watched Clash of the Titans (it wasn't very good). We also got to see Danny's mom and sister which is always a treat. I love Danny's family.

Easter Weekend

Danny and I have had a very busy and fun weekend. On Friday night we went to his mission reunion. His old mission buddies are hilarious! We had a lot of fun talking and joking. I realized that guys are worse gossipers than girls are :) It was just a lot of fun to hear Danny reminisce about the mission (he doesn't talk about it all that much).

If Danny and Elder Gardener were gay then I think they'd go well together ;)

On Saturday Danny and I were invited to go to the Desert Star theater with some friends of ours. The couple that invited us are Jim and Mary and I teach pump to them. They are like parents to me up here. They make us food and bring us Christmas and Easter gifts. They buy us gift cards to restaurants. They are just awesome. The Desert Star theater is a place where actors put on plays making fun of previous movies. We got to watch them act out Pirates of the Caribbean and it was so much fun! You sit at little tables and waitresses bring you stuff through out the play (obviously you have to buy the food though). It was so much fun and we definitely plan on going back!

Lastly, we got to watch conference this weekend. It was incredible! We both felt like the overall theme this year was on the importance of families. We were both blessed to be raised in such amazing families. Here are some of my favorite family memories:

1.) Watching Dallyn get sent to the "dungeon" every day for not eating her dinner. We all thought it was really funny :)

2.) Lauren and I would sneak into each others room and sleep in the same bed and stay up all night talking.

3.) We used to dress Reed up as a girl and leave him on our neighbors doorstep. We also used to threaten him that we would make him live in the attic with our older brother Charlie who eats fish heads.

4.) We got to pick Jarem up from his mission in Puerto Rico and it was really neat for us all to see what an incredible guy he is.

5.) We would go to work with my dad and the highlight of the work day was dipping our heads in the pool after we picked up the little turds from aeration.

6.) We used to have to pick weeds and plant flowers with my ma and even though we would groan and complain, I think we all really enjoyed it.. atleast I did!

I love my family so much and I really hope that I can create some of the same memories with my future family.
